Dhruv Dogra -
I’ve been proudly playing for Ellerslie Cricket Club since 2017, representing both the Senior Reserves and the Premier team over the years. It’s a privilege to now serve as Chairperson and give back to the club that’s given me so much.
Beyond the field, I work in senior leadership within the Education sector, overseeing teams, operations, and strategy across Auckland and Waikato. I bring experience in governance, planning, and people management - all of which help shape my approach to leadership at ECC.
As Chairperson, my focus is on building a stronger, more connected club - one that supports players at every level and nurtures the next generation of cricketers. I’m passionate about strengthening our junior programme and coaching systems, and creating clear, well-supported pathways for players to transition from juniors to seniors. I want to ensure that players feel valued and that their development is actively supported throughout their cricketing journey.
Equally important is the culture we create as a club. I’m committed to fostering an environment where everyone - players, coaches, families, and supporters - feels welcome, respected, and part of something bigger. I believe that a great club is built not just on performance, but on people and community Looking ahead, I’m also focused on strengthening our connections with schools, families, and local organisations. These partnerships are key to ensuring the club’s long-term sustainability and relevance within our community.
I’m here to lead with integrity, to listen to our members, and to work together with parents, children, and our wider community to make Ellerslie Cricket Club a place we’re all proud to be part of - now and into the future.

I first joined the club as a junior in 2010 at age 10 and returned in 2021 after university, now playing as a senior. Over the past two seasons, I’ve proudly served as Vice Captain and Captain of the fourth team, giving me strong insight into the needs of our senior players. I also play for Ellerslie Football Club and am passionate about contributing to our local sporting community.
Having grown through the junior ranks, returned as a senior, and led a team, I bring a well-rounded perspective on what members value in their club experience. I also have a strong understanding of how cricket operates in Auckland, which I believe is valuable in shaping the club’s direction. Professionally, I work as an auditor and have experience working with sports organisations across Auckland. This background gives me a solid understanding of governance, financial management, and the responsibilities of being on a board.
As Treasurer, I’m committed to promoting transparency, ensuring financial sustainability, and supporting the club’s continued success.

I am proud to be stepping into the role of Secretary at Ellerslie Cricket Club for the 2025 season.
My journey with Ellerslie started when I was around four years old in the Junior Skills programme, and I have been part of the club ever since. From those early childhood memories learning the basics of cricket through to junior grades, youth cricket, and now playing in the Senior Cricket programme, Ellerslie has always been a constant in my life. To this day I still enjoy pulling on the whites and representing the club on the field.
Off the field, I have always been passionate about giving back to the club that has given me so much. Over the years, I have been fortunate to serve on the board previously as both Secretary and Communications Manager while still in high school, which gave me an appreciation of the governance and operational side of running a community club. Beyond those roles, I’ve spent many weekends and evenings volunteering as a junior coach, scorer, and helping with administration and operations whenever needed. Ellerslie has always felt like a second home, and supporting the club in diverse ways has been something I’ve genuinely enjoyed.
Alongside my direct involvement here, I’ve gained wider experience in sports administration. I worked for FIFA during the 2023 Women’s World Cup, which was an incredible opportunity to be part of a global sporting event hosted here in Aotearoa. I’ve also worked with the Oceania Football Confederation, and I’ve served on the board at Manurewa AFC during the National League while also consulting for several football clubs across Auckland. These experiences have given me valuable insights into governance, event delivery, communications, and operational management, all of which I look forward to bringing into my role at Ellerslie.
I have also been fortunate to work at one of our valued club partners, Cricket Express Mt Eden, which further strengthened my knowledge of the cricketing community and the sporting landscape more broadly.
Ellerslie Cricket Club has been a huge part of my life for over two decades. It is not just a place where I have played the game I love, but also where I’ve formed lifelong friendships and been part of a community that means so much to me. Stepping back into the role of Secretary is an opportunity to give back to that community and to help ensure the club continues to thrive, both on and off the field.
I am looking forward to working with the board, our members, and all of you to make 2025 a great season for Ellerslie Cricket Club.
I am, you are, WE are Ellerslie.

I have been a playing member of Ellerslie Cricket Club since the 2018/19 season. From the start I have worked closely with those running the club by providing assistance at major events, working bees and volunteering time in the junior section. During this time I have been able to organise different events and activities at the senior club such as Fantasy Cricket, Bomber's Blast, Cricket Day 2022 as well as a Cricket Sixes Competition 2025. I have also been a coach in the junior section for a string of seasons and got the chance to see some of our younger cricketers make their way into the senior section. During the winters I am also an overseas cricketer in the UK where I have gained valuable insight into how well established clubs maintain standards as well as smaller or newer clubs expand through the help of volunteers and the local community.
With these experiences, I am looking forward to growing the senior section and making it a stronger unit which will encourage competition and a hunger for greatness. I also aim to bridge the gap between the junior section and the senior section to provide opportunities for our upcoming cricketers to flourish as they progress to adult cricket. My fondest memories growing up would be playing cricket with my old man and maturing as a player in such environments.
I look forward to stepping up in this role and doing so by skill and by valour.
With the new season fast approaching, I am also looking forward to establishing the Senior-Sub Committee which will better enrich the players' experience at our club.

My name is Shane Wilson, I am married to Sharon and we have two sons & I have lived in Ellerslie for 35 years. I am the Junior Chairman, Junior Coordinator and Life Member of the Club. The association with myself and the Ellerslie Cricket Club started in 1999, with a phone call from Rob Corney a junior coach at the club.
Our oldest son was 4 years old at the time, so we started going to the club in the Friday Skills Programme and from that I started coaching a Year 4 side and the story begins. I coached our oldest son’s side for a few seasons until our youngest son joined the club and I coached them until the U15 grade but occasionally filling in for scoring duties with older son in the afternoon. After my coaching days I looked at taking on different roles in the club such as Junior President and Junior Chairman & the latter I am still presently in that role on the Board of Directors. One of my proudest moments at the club was to be made a Life Member and with my family present made it a very memorable night. The smiling faces of our young players on Friday afternoons & Saturday mornings also makes me proud, and reminds me of how far the club has come over the years.
Our Club has always prided itself on community focused and family orientated values. Our priority regardless of ability and /or cricket knowledge is the chance to enjoy the game and make friends and hope they will become life long members of the Ellerslie Cricket family.

I have a long-standing affiliation and deep admiration for the club, its people, and its impact on the community. I joined both the football and cricket clubs at the age of five and played cricket right through until I “retired” at 27.
Volunteerism has always been part of my whānau, with my mum serving on the football club committee for over 20 years, culminating in the honour of being made a life member. My reason for serving on the cricket club Board is to continue this legacy and play a small part in connecting the community while helping to create an environment where players, supporters, and everyone in between can enjoy the same privilege I was so lucky to have.
Since finishing my playing days, I have pursued a career in sports administration, holding roles with Cornwall Cricket, Auckland Cricket, and currently Bowls Auckland.
