Ellerslie Girl's cricket runs from school year Y5 through to Under 18 players.
Girls for Year 0 to 2 participate in Nursery grade on Fridays nights. For Year 3 and 4 girls, they played in mixed teams on Saturday mornings using "Incrediballs" - Soft PVC ball. No protective gear is required. Read more in Juniors sections here. For Women's cricket follow the link.
Ellerslie Cricket Club provides all equipment - bats, gloves, pads and other required gear.
U12 Girls
Last season, 2008/09, ECC had a girls team playing with the hardball. This season, 2009/10, Ellerslie want to have 2 teams. One team playing in the Junior Hearts Hardball grade and other playing in the Junior Hearts Softball competition.
U12 - Junior Hearts Softball
Saturday morning 8-a-side cricket for new or inexperienced crickters played with "Incrediballs" . Players bat in pairs allowing everyone to have a turn, runs are deducted for wickets, rather than the girls being given out. All players get a turn at bowling and wicket keeping as well.
U12 - Junior Hearts Hardball
Saturday morning 8-a-side cricket for more experienced cricketers played with a hardball.
Premier Youth Grade
Saturday afternoon 11-a-side cricket for all from Y9 to Y13. This grade is for all girl cricket players at secondary school, or first year uni, who want to play cricket - all skill levels are catered for.
