v Grafton @ Victoria Park (15 Oct)
Ellerslie: 152/4 in 21 overs (Ryan Higgins 64, Parikshith Narsimhan 58) LOST against Grafton: 154/5 (Rig Wall 2-23) Lost by 2 runs
Heavy downpours during the day meant a painful day waiting for a chance of play.
A 21 over game eventually began at 3.40pm, with Grafton winning the toss and electing to bat. Ellerslie picked up early wickets and kept Grafton at 6 per over until some fielding lapses in the last 5 overs allowed a total of over 150 to be scored.
Ellerslie then looked to be completing a textbook run chase, with 9 wickets in hand and only 30 runs to win, with both overseas Ryan Higgins and Parikshith Narsimhan scoring their first half-centuries for the side sponsored by Secure Parking. However, with 29 needed off 21 balls, Higgins dismissal allowed Grafton back into the game and Ellerslie were unable to secure the win, falling agonisingly short by two runs.
